I’m renaming these from sticky bun breakfast ring to 911 Sticky Buns because after a long night with a sick munchkin, my husband and I needed something like this FAST and when in dire need of something gooey and delicious, these are a snap to make.
Yep, this is all you need. The original recipe from All Things Delicious calls for Pillsbury Grands Biscuits, but I tried these Trader Joe’s biscuits recently and preferred the taste and texture. I think (I’m not positive) they might also have less of the icky ingredients in them–which, foolishly, makes me feel better about feeding them to my family–as if they’re a healthy biscuit. We love raisins so I toss those in, too.
Spray a fluted pan with nonstick spray and set aside. Mix melted butter and maple syrup in a small bowl.
In another bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and raisins (if you like).
Pour about half of the syrup mixture in the fluted pan. Sprinkle about half of the sugar mixture on top.
Layer the biscuits in the pan, overlapping them a little.
Pour the rest of the syrup mixture on top of the biscuits.
And sprinkle the rest of the sugar mixture on top. Eee! I love sticky buns!
Bake at 375 degrees for 20-30 minutes. Times will vary based on your oven. For example, my oven is off (below by several degrees) so I baked mine for 28 minutes. They were perfect.
Remove from oven and let cool for a minute. Then invert on a large plate or platter.
Come to mama.
Start with at least 2…don’t feel bad having 1 or 2 more. They don’t keep all that well (actually I wouldn’t know, we never have any leftovers).
An ooey-gooey bite headed for my mouth. Oink oink.
